How to Choose an Extractor Fan

Welcome to our Extractor Fan Guide. On this page you'll find everything you need to help you choose the extractor fan that's right for you. To find the necessary size for your extractor fan, just follow this easy process:

1.  Find the volume of the room where the extractor fan will go. Do this by multiplying together the length, width, and height of the room in metres. (Remember: 1 foot = 0.3 metres. And, 1 cubic foot = 0.03 cubic metres).

2.  Once you've found the volume of the room in cubic metres, use the table below and find the room of your home you in which you intend to install the fan. Then take the corresponding number under "Air Changes Needed Per Hour" in the table and multiply it by your room's volume.

3.  This number is the extraction rate you'll need for your extractor fan. It is expressed in metres cubed per hour, or m3/hr.

4.  Find an appropriate extractor fan!
