The Ansell Beacon ABEA/1/W delivers 250lm of crisp 5000K emergency light from a discreet 80mm diameter fitting. It suits commercial, education, hospitality, retail and ancillary spaces, so you can specify one compact emergency downlight across a wide range of projects.

Long-Life LiFePO4 Emergency Backup

The Beacon runs in non-maintained mode. It stays off during normal operation and lights automatically when the mains supply fails, so occupants have light to leave the building safely.

Power comes from a LiFePO4 lithium battery, which gives the product a longer life than conventional battery chemistries. The Li-Pro battery is backed by a 7-year cover, which means fewer callbacks and lower lifetime maintenance costs for facilities teams and contractors. If a replacement is ever needed, the dedicated ASBP/47 3.2V 3200mAh LiFePO4 battery keeps servicing simple.

Open Area and Escape Route Lighting From One Downlight

Each fitting comes with two interchangeable lenses. The open area lens provides a wide 140° spread for anti-panic lighting in open spaces. The escape route lens provides a 160°x40° distribution that throws light along corridors. One product covers both applications, which simplifies ordering and reduces van stock.

The adjustable polycarbonate head lets you aim the light precisely during installation. This helps you hit the required illuminance on the escape path without adding extra fittings.

Discreet 65mm Cut-Out for Fast Recessed Installation

The Beacon fits a 65mm cut-out and stands just 30mm high, so it suits shallow ceiling voids in refurbishments and new builds alike. Spring clips give a quick, secure recessed fix. Class 2 construction means no earth connection is required.

The fitting is rated IP20 for internal use and IK06 for impact resistance. Its polycarbonate body and PMMA diffuser stand up to everyday commercial environments. At just 0.28kg, it is light and easy to handle at height.
