Hager VME012 — 12 Way Metal Consumer Unit Enclosure, Design Evo Range, Surface-Mounted

Hager VME012 is a 12 way metal consumer unit enclosure from the Design Evo range — a skeleton consumer unit supplied without devices, so installers get a blank, standards-compliant steel housing ready to fit out with Hager's Design Evo device and busbar system. Rated for a 100A incoming supply and designed for surface mounting.

Fast, Tidy Installation

As a metal consumer unit built on the Design Evo platform, the VME012 carries over the range's fitting features to keep first and second fix quick. Round knockouts on the top, bottom and sides accept standard grommets, glands and entry plates in a range of sizes, so cable entry doesn't need extra adapters or filing.

A rear cable protector plate guards cables from abrasion at the rear entry points, and the supplied earthing terminal block means less prep before devices go in. The steel enclosure is finished in white (RAL 9010) for a clean, consistent look on any board schedule.

Safety & Reliability

This mains board carries IP2XC ingress protection, rising to IP4X with the door closed, and IK05 impact resistance, so it holds up against knocks on a busy site. It's built to Isolation Class I, and the non-combustible metal construction meets the regulatory requirements for consumer units and enclosures in domestic premises.

A single hinged door with dependent manual operation keeps the enclosure enclosed and tidy, and the neutral terminal block is fitted as standard, saving a separate purchase and install step.

Installation & Compliance

Rated at 100A, the VME012 gives contractors headroom for a standard domestic or light commercial incomer. As part of the wider Hager consumer unit range, it's designed to take Design Evo devices and busbar, keeping the whole board within one compliant system that supports full compliance with BS 7671:2018+A4:2026.
