The Hager RCBO 40A B Curve Type A Single Pole 2 Module 6kA ADA940U is a compact protective device that combines MCB overcurrent protection and RCD earth leakage protection in a single unit. Rated at 40A with a 30mA residual operating current, it is designed for use in final circuits where both overload/short-circuit protection and additional protection against electric shock are required, such as in domestic and light commercial consumer units.

Type A Safety with 6kA Breaking Capacity

Featuring a B-curve tripping characteristic, the ADA940U is suitable for general-purpose circuits with moderate inrush currents, including lighting and socket circuits. A Type A residual current function provides sensitivity to AC and pulsating DC earth leakage, in line with modern regulatory expectations for many circuits. The device offers a 6kA short-circuit breaking capacity at 230–240V AC in accordance with IEC 60898-1, ensuring reliable fault clearance and coordinated protection within Hager distribution boards.

Compact 2-Module Design for Easy Installation

Designed as a 1P+N (single pole and switched neutral) device in a 2-module housing, the RCBO mounts directly to DIN rail for straightforward installation and board layout. Screw terminals on the top and Hager’s biconnect bottom connection accept flexible conductors from 1–16mm² and rigid conductors from 1–25mm², with a tightening torque of 2.1Nm to ensure secure connections. An IP20 rating, operating temperature range of -25°C to +40°C, and compact dimensions of 83mm (H) x 35mm (W) x 68mm (D) make it a practical choice for new installations and upgrades alike.
