BG CURAFDB10DPA Bidirectional AFDD RCBO: 10A B Curve, 30mA Type A, 6kA, 1P+N (Double Pole) Single Module Arc Fault Protection.

The BG CURAFDB10DPA combines an Arc Fault Detection Device and a 10A RCBO in one 17.85mm module. It gives arc fault, earth leakage, overload and short-circuit protection from a single DIN rail position. It switches both live and neutral as standard and is bidirectional, so you can wire it to suit the board layout.

Smarter Fire Prevention

The CURAFDB10DPA detects dangerous arcing that a standard MCB, RCBO or RCD cannot see. This includes series arcing in damaged cable, parallel arcing between conductors, and parallel arcing between live and earth. It trips the circuit before a loose termination, crushed flex or worn accessory can start an electrical fire.

The 10A rating and B Curve characteristic suit lighting circuits and power circuits running low-power appliances in domestic and light commercial installations. Protection covers the full circuit, including spurs and connected leads, which makes it a strong choice for bedrooms, HMOs and rental properties.

Safety & Reliability

The 30mA Type A residual current protection detects pulsed DC above 6mA, so earth leakage protection stays dependable on circuits feeding electronic loads. The 6kA breaking capacity provides robust short-circuit protection.

Pollution Degree 3 testing and a −25°C to +40°C operating range keep the device reliable in enclosures exposed to condensation or temperature swings, including garages, outbuildings and external boards.

Installation & Compliance

The single module format fits the BG range of consumer units and enclosures and retrofits easily into existing boards. You can add AFDD protection to a circuit without replacing the consumer unit. Double pole switched neutral disconnection fully isolates the circuit for safer testing and fault finding.

The device complies with BS 7671 Amendment 4 and is built to IEC/EN 61009-1 and IEC/EN 62606, with CE and UKCA marking. An integral test button allows routine testing in line with the IET Wiring Regulations, which supports your certification and handover paperwork.
