Garo EV Consumer Unit SPD 60A Load Management 40A RCBO

The Garo GMS5EV40LM60 EV Consumer Unit is a compact, weatherproof solution for EV charge point installations. Built to BS EN 61439-3, it combines a 40A Type A RCBO, Type 2 surge protection and integrated 60A load management in an IP65 metal enclosure.

The built-in LM60 load management module monitors the incoming supply using CT clamps and controls the charger via a control signal, reducing the charging current so that total demand stays within a 60A supply. This helps avoid overloading the main fuse and supports EV charger installations on supplies with limited capacity. For 80A supplies, see the GMS5EV40LM80.

Please note: this unit does not include PME / PEN fault detection. Where the supply is PME, protection meeting BS 7671 Regulation 722.411.4.1 must be provided separately, for example by a charger with built-in PEN fault detection, a TT earthing arrangement, or a dedicated PME protection unit.
