Sync Energy CP5R4PS1G IP66 External EV Consumer Unit is a 40A 30mA Type A RCD, 40A MCB and Type 2 SPD in a 5 module, UV-stable anthracite grey polycarbonate enclosure built for outdoor EV and PV installations.

This weatherproof consumer unit gives a home EV charger its own protected supply on an outside wall, with earth fault, overcurrent and surge protection all factory-fitted. There is nothing extra to source and nothing to configure on site, just fit, connect and certify. It complies with BS7671 18th Edition Amendment 4.

RCD Incomer & MCB Ready for EV Charger Circuits

The 40A 30mA Type A RCD incomer provides earth fault protection for the charging circuit. The 40A MCB handles overcurrent protection, giving you a proven, familiar protection layout that is quick to test and easy to fault-find.

A Type 2 SPD protects the charger's electronics from transient overvoltages caused by lightning or grid switching. That reduces the risk of damage to your customer's charger and cuts callbacks.

Weatherproof Polycarbonate Built for Outdoor Walls

The UV-stable polycarbonate housing is rated IP66, so it keeps out dust and powerful water jets and resists sun damage when mounted beside the driveway. The fitted devices carry Pollution Degree 3 certification for dependable performance in damp or dirty conditions.

The anthracite grey RAL7016 finish suits modern doors, windows and cladding. A lockable cover takes a lock with a shackle of up to 5mm, so you can prevent tampering or accidental switching on street-facing or shared properties. The lock is not supplied.

Space to Add Solar Protection Later

The 5 module enclosure comes with a removable 18mm blank, leaving room to expand the installation as your customer's needs change. Because the unit is designed for both EV and PV applications, a homeowner adding solar later can often use the same enclosure rather than fitting a second box.

Fast First Fix with Flexible Cable Entry

A removable, raised DIN rail lets you fix the enclosure to the wall with clear access, route cables easily, then refit the rail for neat terminations. Drillable entries on the sides, bottom and base let the supply and charger cables come in from whichever direction suits the site.

The unit is type-tested to BS EN 61439-3 and UKCA and CE marked, which keeps sign-off straightforward. It is backed by a 10-year warranty.
