Sync Energy CFEV6W White IP65 External EV Consumer Unit is a 100A main switch, 40A B curve MCB and Type 2 SPD, factory-fitted in a UV-stable cast aluminium enclosure for straightforward EV charger installs.

This compact EV consumer unit gives a home charger a dedicated, isolatable and surge-protected supply in one weatherproof box. It arrives fully configured, so there are no devices to source or fit on site. It complies with BS7671 18th Edition Amendment 3.

Simple, Dependable Circuit Protection

The 100A main switch lets you isolate the charging circuit at the unit, making testing, inspection and maintenance safer. The 40A B curve MCB provides overcurrent protection for the charger circuit, while the Type 2 SPD protects the charger's electronics against transient overvoltages from lightning or grid switching.

This configuration has no RCD, so it suits installations where residual current protection is provided by the EV charger itself or elsewhere in the installation. That avoids unnecessary duplication of devices and keeps the board simple.

Weatherproof Build for Driveway Installs

The enclosure is made from UV-stable 2mm cast aluminium (ADC12) and rated IP65, so it keeps out dust and water jets and resists sun damage when mounted outdoors. The fitted devices carry Pollution Degree 3 certification for reliable performance in damp or dirty conditions.

The white RAL9016 finish blends neatly with light render, cladding and uPVC frames. A built-in padlock facility on the front cover deters tampering on street-facing or shared properties. The padlock is not supplied.

Quick to Fit, Easy to Sign Off

A removable, raised DIN rail means you can fix the enclosure first, route cables with clear access, then refit the rail for tidy terminations. M20 knockouts, drillable to M32, give 3 entries each on the top and bottom, 2 on the sides and 1 on the base, so the supply and charger cables can enter wherever suits the site.

The unit is type-tested to BS EN 61439-3 and UKCA and CE marked, which keeps certification straightforward. It is backed by a 10-year warranty.
