Fusebox RTF400302 RCD 40A DP Type F

FuseBox RTF400302 is a 40A 30mA Type F 2 pole RCD, built to IEC 62423 and IEC 61008-1. It gives reliable earth leakage protection for circuits supplying appliances with variable frequency drives, such as washing machines, tumble driers, dishwashers and air conditioning units.

Type F Protection for Modern Appliances

Many modern appliances use variable-speed motor drives that produce high-frequency and mixed-frequency residual currents, which a standard Type A RCD isn't designed to detect. The RTF400302 responds to sinusoidal AC, pulsating DC, pulsating DC with up to 10mA smooth DC superimposed, and high-frequency currents up to 1kHz. That keeps protection reliable on these circuits. It trips at its rated 30mA within 0.1s, protecting people against electric shock. Type F RCDs are referenced in BS 7671 Regulation 531.3.3 for this kind of equipment.

Ideal for Kitchens, Utility Rooms and Air Conditioning

The RTF400302 suits circuits feeding washing machines, driers, dishwashers and air conditioning units with variable frequency controlled drives. The 40A rating makes it a good fit for a dedicated kitchen or utility room circuit group. Always check the appliance manufacturer's instructions to confirm the RCD type required. Type F RCDs are not designed to detect smooth DC residual currents, so equipment that needs that protection, such as some EV chargers and solar PV inverters, requires a Type B RCD instead.

Dependable Performance and Easy Fitting

The RTF400302 has a 10kA rated conditional short-circuit current, a 4kV rated impulse withstand voltage and a mechanical life of 10,000 operations. Designed to fit FuseBox consumer units and modular enclosures, it clips onto a standard 35mm DIN rail. It takes cables up to 25mm² at a 2.5Nm torque setting. A front test button makes routine checks quick and easy.
