Hager VME113SPD is a 13 way consumer unit with SPD provision from the Design Evo range, built around a 100A double-pole switch disconnector incomer, a single module space for a Type II surge protection device, and overvoltage protection fitted as standard. As a fuller Hager consumer unit with SPD built into the layout from the start, it gives contractors room for a larger domestic circuit schedule with surge and overvoltage protection already accounted for.

One-Handed Fitting & Fast First Fix

Design Evo's fitting features come as standard on every board, including the VME113SPD. Smart lid locators hold the front cover in place automatically during final fix for true one-handed fitting, while retained, captive screws stay in the cover so nothing gets dropped or lost on site. Lid prop holes let you hold the lid open with a tool to label circuits hands-free, and an integrated spirit level built into the neutral bar gives a fast, tool-free check on horizontal alignment.

Round knockouts on the top, bottom and sides replace the old square cut-outs, so standard grommets, glands and entry plates fit straight away in a range of sizes. A rear cable protector plate guards cables from abrasion at the rear entry points, and a secure cable clamp firmly holds meter tails, reducing strain on terminals and freeing up hands during connection.

Compact Surge Protection With Built-In Overvoltage Defence

The single module Type II SPD provision on this Hager consumer unit with surge protection uses Hager's patented SPD earth connection, which earths directly through the metal DIN rail bracket. That means no secondary fly-lead, no extra connection step, and no additional circuit-breaker needed in the SPD assembly — just fit the SPD module and go. Overvoltage protection is built in as standard on top of this, giving a second layer of defence for sensitive electronics on the circuit — a step up from boards that only offer SPD provision without it.

Quick-release DIN clips also mean a single device can be swapped without dismantling the whole busbar, so future call-backs and circuit changes on this board stay quick, even with 13 ways to manage.

Safety & Compliance

The VME113SPD carries IP4X ingress protection and IK05 impact resistance, so it holds up against knocks and keeps live parts enclosed. It's built to Isolation Class I in a non-combustible steel enclosure, meeting the regulatory requirements for consumer units in domestic premises. A lockable lid with pre-cut facility accepts an optional lock barrel or padlock in place of the supplied bung with no drilling required, supporting instant Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) compliance on site.

The 116A rated incomer gives strong headroom above the standard domestic 100A supply, and torque settings are printed directly on compatible devices to support secure, inspection-ready connections.

Installation

Suitable for indoor use only and designed for surface mounting, the VME113SPD is built to take Hager's Design Evo device and busbar system, keeping the whole board within one compliant range that supports full compliance with BS 7671:2018+A4:2026.
