The Kosnic Niah 2 in 1 EMPAD02/SST is a universal non-maintained emergency conversion kit designed specifically for retrofitting to panel luminaires — adding 200lm of three-hour emergency output to an existing panel fitting without any change to the existing wiring and without drilling. Combining manual test and automatic self-test operation via an internal DIP switch, a 90,700-hour LED lifetime, and a self-adhesive LED pad for tool-free fitting, it is a fast, low-disruption solution for bringing panel luminaires into emergency compliance on refurbishment projects, office fit-outs, and educational or healthcare installations.

Designed for Panel Luminaires — No Wiring Changes, No Drilling

The EMPAD02/SST retrofit kit is purpose-built for LED panel luminaires. The self-adhesive LED pad bonds directly to the panel without any drilling into the ceiling or the fitting, and the driver unit is housed within the ceiling void connected to the existing supply — meaning the installation leaves no visible change to the panel face or the ceiling finish. This makes it particularly well suited to occupied buildings where minimal disruption is essential, and to panel installations where drilling or back-box modification is either impractical or would affect fire integrity.

Manual or Self-Test — Selectable via Internal DIP Switch

An internal dual-mode DIP switch selects between standard manual test and automatic self-test conforming to BS EN 62034 — at commissioning or at any later point, without rewiring. In self-test mode, scheduled functional and duration checks run automatically, removing manual test rounds and supporting compliance records across multi-fitting panel installations. A green LED status indicator communicates operational health, test status, and fault conditions through distinct flash patterns — covering system healthy, duration test pending, duration test running, functional test running, battery charging fault, battery duration fault, lamp or luminaire fault, and installation fault warning. Indicator brightness is adjustable by pressing and holding the test button for more than two seconds. In manual mode, one press triggers a functional test and three presses trigger a duration test.

200lm Emergency Output, 90,700-Hour LED Lifetime

A maximum input of 2.5W delivers 200lm of 6,000K cool white emergency luminous flux — a higher output than the Neka downlight kit (EMPAD01/SST), reflecting the wider light distribution requirements of panel luminaire installations in open-plan spaces. The 90,700-hour L80B10 LED lifetime at 25°C ambient means the LED element will not need replacement across any realistic commercial service life. Class II double-insulated polycarbonate construction means no earth connection is required. The 0°C to 50°C operating range covers standard internal environments.
