BG Fortress CURAFDB20A — 20A B Curve Type A AFDD + RCBO (Arc Fault Detection Device, 30mA, 6kA)

The BG CURAFDB20A is a 20A B-curve Arc Fault Detection Device (AFDD) with integrated Type A RCBO, providing the highest level of electrical protection available for domestic and light-commercial installations. It safeguards circuits from arc faults, overload, short-circuit and earth-leakage hazards, delivering four essential protections in one compact module.

AFDD technology provides early detection of dangerous electrical arcing—one of the leading causes of electrical fires—and responds faster and more precisely than traditional devices such as MCBs, RCDs or RCBOs.

The CURAFDB20A continuously monitors circuit waveforms for arc signatures caused by:

Loose, worn or poorly terminated connections

Crushed, kinked or damaged cables

Cable insulation breakdown through aging or overheating

Rodent-damaged wiring

By disconnecting the circuit before heat builds, the device significantly reduces the risk of electrical fire—making it ideal for high-risk areas, rental properties and consumer unit upgrades.

In addition to AFDD protection, the unit includes a complete RCBO, offering:

30mA Type A RCD protection capable of detecting AC leakage and >6mA pulsed DC
