BG Fortress CURAFDB16A — 16A B Curve Type A AFDD + RCBO (Arc Fault Detection Device, 30mA, 6kA)

The BG CURAFDB16A is a 16A B-curve Arc Fault Detection Device (AFDD) with an integrated Type A RCBO, delivering the highest level of protection against electrical fires, shock risk and circuit faults. Designed for circuits with medium power demand—such as socket outlets, kitchen circuits, heaters and fixed appliances—it provides full protection against arcing faults, overload, short-circuit and earth-leakage hazards in a compact, single-module device.

AFDD technology detects dangerous series and parallel arcs caused by damaged wiring, loose terminations, crushed cables and insulation breakdown—fault conditions that standard MCBs, RCDs and RCBOs cannot detect.

The CURAFDB16A continuously monitors circuit waveforms to identify arc signatures arising from:

Loose, aged or poorly terminated connections

Damaged, kinked, crushed or degraded cables

Rodent-chewed wiring

Failing or overstressed insulation

The device disconnects before an electrical fire can start, making it an essential upgrade for enhanced safety in homes, HMOs, rental properties and high-risk environments.
