BG Fortress CURAFDB32A — 32A B Curve Type A AFDD + RCBO (Arc Fault Detection Device, 30mA, 6kA)

The BG CURAFDB32A is a 32A B-curve Arc Fault Detection Device (AFDD) with integrated Type A RCBO, offering the highest specification of domestic circuit protection currently available. Designed for high-load radial circuits, kitchen supplies, immersion heaters and fixed appliances, it provides full protection against arc faults, overload, short-circuit and earth-leakage hazards in one compact, space-saving module.

AFDD technology detects series and parallel electrical arcs—conditions caused by loose terminations, cable damage or insulation breakdown—and automatically disconnects the circuit before an electrical fire can start, exceeding the protection offered by MCBs, RCDs and RCBOs.

The CURAFDB32A continuously analyses circuit waveforms to identify arc signatures generated by:

Loose or ageing cable joints

Crushed, kinked or overheated cables

Degraded insulation

Rodent-damaged wiring

By acting before excessive heat develops, the device reduces the risk of electrical fire and improves safety in higher-load circuits where cable stress is more likely.

Alongside AFDD capability, this device includes a full RCBO, providing:

30mA Type A RCD protection – detects AC and >6mA pulsed DC leakage

B-curve overload and short-circuit protection

1P+N disconnection for safer isolation

The 32A rating makes it suitable for appliance radials, cooker circuits, water heaters and high-demand sockets.
