BG Fortress CF12MS9 — 12 Module 9 Way Main Switch Consumer Unit with Type 2 SPD

The BG CF12MS9 is a 12-module, 9-way consumer unit supplied complete with a 100A main switch and factory-installed Type 2 surge protection device (SPD). Designed to comply with the 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671), it provides contractors with a robust, regulation-ready solution for domestic and light-commercial installations requiring reliable circuit protection and enhanced surge resilience.

This enclosure supports MCBs, RCBOs, RCDs, AFDDs and additional control devices, offering flexibility for both new builds and rewires. Large rear knockouts, backed-out terminal screws and an integrated spirit level help reduce installation time and improve accuracy on site.

Fast, Accurate Installation for Busy Contractors

The CF12MS9 features a carefully engineered layout to simplify fitting in tight spaces. Contractors benefit from large rear knockouts (two rows) for easier cable routing, 40mm top, side and base knockouts, and retained terminal screws that prevent loss during assembly.

The integrated spirit level helps ensure a neat, level installation — a small but highly valued feature when working on multiple consumer units in quick succession.

Built-In Surge Protection for 18th Edition Compliance

A Type 2 SPD (40kA) is pre-wired inside the unit, helping protect connected circuits and equipment from transient overvoltage events such as lightning or switching surges. This eliminates the need for additional SPD accessories and ensures compliance with modern surge-protection requirements.

Durable, Installer-Friendly Design

The enclosure is finished in RAL9016 Traffic White, with IP2XC protection for safe operation. All components are BG-manufactured, maintaining compliance with BS/EN 61439 and ensuring long-term reliability backed by a 10-year manufacturer guarantee (subject to conditions).
