BG Fortress CURAFDB40A — 40A B Curve Type A AFDD + RCBO (Arc Fault Detection Device, 30mA, 6kA)

The BG CURAFDB40A is a 40A B-curve Arc Fault Detection Device (AFDD) with integrated Type A RCBO, engineered to provide the highest level of circuit and fire safety for heavy-load domestic and light-commercial applications. Ideal for high-demand radials, workshops, utility circuits, EV charger spurs and fixed appliances, it delivers full protection against arcing faults, overload, short-circuit and earth-leakage hazards in one compact device.

AFDD technology detects series and parallel arc faults—conditions often caused by damaged cables, loose connections or insulation breakdown—and disconnects the supply before heat buildup can lead to an electrical fire.

The CURAFDB40A continually analyses the circuit for arc signatures indicative of:

Loose, degraded or poorly made terminations

Crushed, kinked or overheated cables

Cable insulation failure due to age or load stress

Rodent-damaged wiring

By acting before arcing can develop into ignition, the device offers far greater fire prevention than any MCB, RCD or RCBO alone.

Alongside AFDD protection, the unit includes a full RCBO, offering:

30mA Type A RCD protection, detecting AC leakage and >6mA pulsed DC

Overload and short-circuit protection with B-curve tripping
