Spit Tapcon 058679 — 6x55mm M8/M10 Rod Hanging Concrete Screw Anchor For Cracked & Non-Cracked Concrete
The Spit Tapcon 058679 is a 6x55mm Tapcon 5 XTREM rod hanging concrete screw anchor designed for fast, high-capacity suspension of M8 and M10 threaded rod directly into concrete. With a 55mm embedment depth in C20/25 concrete and ETA approval for cracked and non-cracked concrete, it provides a secure, code-compliant fixing for heavy containment, pipework and support systems without sleeves, plugs or separate drop-in anchors.
High Performance Rod Hanger For Heavy Services
At 55mm embedment, the 058679 delivers recommended tensile working loads up to 4.0kN in non-cracked C20/25 concrete and 2.2kN in cracked concrete per anchor, with shear loads up to 4.0kN (spacing and edge distances observed). That makes it suitable for heavier duty rod-suspended runs of cable tray, ladder, trunking and secondary steel in plant rooms, risers and industrial installations.
Fast Direct Fixing – No Drop-In Anchors Or Setting Tools
Tapcon 5 XTREM concrete screws cut their own thread into a 6mm pre-drilled hole, so there’s no need for expansion anchors, sleeves or resin. Installation is a simple three-step process – drill, blow out dust, then drive the anchor with an impact screwdriver and SW13 hex socket until the head sits tight to the fixture. The integrated M8/M10 rod hanging head then takes standard threaded rod for a quick, repeatable suspension point.
Built For Cracked, Seismic & Fire Rated Concrete
The Tapcon 5 XTREM range is ETA-approved for use in cracked and non-cracked concrete and seismic performance categories C1 and C2, giving confidence for safety-critical applications. Fire design resistances are provided up to R120, supporting use in escape routes and fire-engineered installations when designed in line with the ETA.
Installer-Friendly Geometry
For Ø6 anchors with 55mm embedment, the minimum concrete thickness is 100mm, with characteristic edge distance 66mm and spacing 132mm for full capacity, and minimum practical edge and spacing distances of 40mm when load reductions are acceptable. The zinc coated steel construction offers robust corrosion protection in dry internal environments, and the compact screw geometry helps reduce the risk of concrete edge breakout on soffits and beams.
Typical uses include suspending cable tray and ladder, trunking, pipework, ductwork, bracketry, safety barriers and light structural framing on M8 or M10 threaded rod in commercial, industrial and infrastructure projects.
