Spit Tapcon 058663 — 6x50mm Hex Flange Head Concrete Screw Anchor For Cracked & Non Cracked Concrete
The Spit Tapcon 058663 is a 6x50mm Tapcon 5 XTREM hex flange head (HFL) concrete screw anchor designed for quick, reliable fixing of channel, tray and bracketry directly into concrete. With two embedment options (35mm and 40mm) and ETA approval for cracked and non cracked concrete, it offers a versatile, plug-free solution for everyday containment and support work.
Compact 50mm Anchor For Medium Thickness Fixtures
The 6x50/15 format is ideal where you need enough reach for typical channel, bracket and tray feet without excess projection through the slab. At 35mm embedment you can fix up to 15mm thick components, while 40mm embedment gives higher capacity with up to 10mm fixture thickness, all from a total anchor length of just 50mm – perfect for tight soffits and congested service zones.
High Performance In Cracked & Non Cracked Concrete
At 40mm embedment in C20/25 concrete, Ø6 Tapcon 5 XTREM anchors deliver characteristic tensile resistance of 7.0kN in non cracked concrete and 2.5kN in cracked concrete, with shear resistance of 8.5kN. Recommended working loads are up to 2.4kN in tension (non cracked), 0.9kN in tension (cracked) and 4.0kN in shear per anchor when edge distances and spacing are respected, giving dependable performance for day-to-day containment supports.
Fast, Plug-Free Installation With Hex Flange Head
Tapcon concrete screws cut their own thread into a 6mm pre-drilled hole, so there’s no need for plugs, sleeves or resin. Simply drill to hnom + 10mm, blow out the dust and drive the anchor until the hex flange head clamps the fixture tight. The HFL head takes either an SW13 spanner/socket or TX30 bit, and maximum recommended impact torque for Ø6 anchors is 160Nm at 35mm embedment and 170Nm at 40mm, helping installers achieve consistent, repeatable fixings.
Approved For Seismic, Hollow Slab & Fire Rated Use
Tapcon 5 XTREM anchors are ETA-approved (ETA 24/0388 and ETA 24/0389) for cracked and non cracked concrete and seismic performance categories C1 and C2. Design data is also provided for hollow concrete slabs and for fire exposure up to R120, supporting use in risers, escape routes and other safety-critical areas when designed in line with the ETA and EN 1992-4.
Installer-Friendly Distances & Slab Thickness
For Ø6 anchors at 35–40mm embedment, the minimum concrete thickness is 80mm. Characteristic edge distances for full capacity range from 40.5mm to 46mm, with spacing from 81mm to 93mm; minimum practical edge and spacing distances are 35–40mm where reduced capacities are acceptable. Zinc coated steel construction is optimised for dry internal environments and helps protect against corrosion over the life of the installation.
Typical applications include fixing channel, cable tray, brackets, E-clips, cowhorn brackets, trunking and safety barriers into concrete slabs, beams and walls on commercial, industrial and infrastructure projects.
