Spit Tapcon 058665 — 6x80mm Hex Flange Head Concrete Screw Anchor For Cracked & Non Cracked Concrete
The Spit Tapcon 058665 is a 6x80mm Tapcon 5 XTREM hex flange head (HFL) concrete screw anchor designed for fixing deeper or heavier section channel, tray and bracketry directly into concrete. With three embedment options (35, 40 or 55mm) and ETA approval for cracked and non cracked concrete, it provides high-capacity anchoring without plugs, sleeves or resin – ideal for containment and support systems on commercial and industrial jobs.
Long 80mm Anchor For Thick Fixtures
The 6x80/45-25 format allows generous fixture thicknesses while maintaining structural embedment. At 35mm embedment you can fix up to 45mm thick components, 40mm embedment allows 40mm fixtures, and 55mm embedment supports 25mm fixtures with higher load capacity. That makes the 058665 suitable for larger channel sections, bracket stacks, heavy duty cleats and safety barriers where shorter anchors won’t reach.
High Performance In Cracked & Non Cracked Concrete
At 40–55mm embedment, Ø6 Tapcon 5 XTREM anchors deliver recommended tensile working loads up to 4.0kN in non cracked C20/25 concrete and 2.2kN in cracked concrete, with shear loads up to 4.0kN in C20/25 to C50/60 concrete (spacing and edge distances observed). Characteristic tensile resistances reach 10.0kN and shear 8.5kN at 55mm embedment, giving plenty of capacity for heavier services, ladders and secondary steel.
Fast Plug-Free Installation With Hex Flange Head
Tapcon screws cut their own thread into a 6mm pre-drilled hole, so there’s no need for separate plugs or expansion anchors. Simply drill to hnom + 10mm, blow out the hole and drive the screw until the hex flange head clamps the fixture tight. The HFL head takes a SW13 spanner or TX30 bit, giving flexibility for access in tight soffits or congested service zones, and allows installers to visually confirm that the anchor is fully seated. Maximum recommended impact torque for Ø6 anchors is up to 210Nm at 55mm embedment.
Approved For Seismic, Hollow Slab & Fire Rated Use
Tapcon 5 XTREM anchors are ETA-approved (ETA 24/0388 and ETA 24/0389) for use in cracked and non cracked concrete, including seismic performance categories C1 and C2. Design resistances are available for hollow concrete slab applications and for fire exposure up to R120, supporting use in risers, escape routes and other safety critical areas when designed in line with the ETA and relevant standards.
Installer-Friendly Distances & Slab Thickness
For Ø6 Tapcon anchors, minimum concrete thickness is 80mm at 35–40mm embedment and 100mm at 55mm embedment. Characteristic edge distance is from 40.5mm at 35mm embedment up to 66mm at 55mm, with minimum practical edge and spacing distances from 35–40mm where reduced capacities are acceptable. This allows reliable fixing close to slab edges, beams and soffits while managing the risk of breakout. Zinc coated steel construction is optimised for dry internal environments.
Typical applications include fixing deep channel, heavy cable tray and ladder, trunking, large brackets, E-clips, cowhorn brackets and safety barriers into concrete slabs, beams and walls on commercial, industrial and infrastructure projects.
